Nicknames:
I have many! My Rugby team tend to call me "Jeffa" or "Big Guy"; cycling buddies call me "Smash"; in Singapore it's"Jif"; old friends it's "Hoves", and there have been a few others I'd rather not mention!
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
In winter I work in Information Technology as a Security Consultant (stopping Hackers, etc). As a child my parents loved travelling around New Zealand, consequently the only places in New Zealand I haven't been to are Stewart Island & the Chatham Islands. I lived in Singapore for a couple of years and travelled in South East Asia. I've also been to Australia, Japan & USA (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago, Nashville, & New Orleans).
How long have you been at SCS?
1-2 Months but I have been 4WDing & spearfishing around the "Seal-Coast" since I first got a licence - 30 something years ago.
What do you love about your job at SCS?
People - talking with our guests and having fun with them while showing them our beautiful local environment
What do you do in your spare time?
Spearfishing, cycling, playing Rugby, hunting, anything outdoors.
Any hidden talents?
I am a member of Mensa. I am fairly handy at fixing most things (anything DIY, Weld, etc), also work with my son (who is a builder) from time to time.
Favourite thing about Wellington?
It's a lively city - always something happening! It's beautiful, and you can be in a cosmopolitan city one minute and 15 minutes later you can be in the majestic, wild, rugged outdoors.

I've been married to Fiona for the last 26 years, we have 2 children & 2 grandchildren.
